Trying 3 Popular Wigs: Red Waves, Deep Water Curls & A Surprising Afro!

Why I'm All About the Wig Life

I've always been a wig lover, why? Because they give diversity to look and feel like a different woman. Also, I wear wigs to protect my natural hair, they are quick to put on and just head out the door. There is something so freeing about switching up your vibe in under two minutes without committing to a permanent cut or color. Whether you are rushing out for a quick errand or dressing up for a fun day out, a good wig is the ultimate beauty hack for saving time while keeping your natural tresses safe underneath.

Wig #1: ANDRIA Red Wig with Bangs

Rating: 8.5/10

: Long ombre burgundy red synthetic heat-resistant wig with bangs and loose curls worn on a woman.

This first wig, the ANDRIA Red Wig with Bangs Ombre Burgundy Red Color Wig Wet and Wavy Long Loose Curly Wave Synthetic Heat Resistant Fiber, is a very pretty color for me because I love reddish tones and I look so pretty in that color. I aimed for a wig with bangs because it gives me a more youthful look.

It's very flowy and soft, and I haven't experienced shedding. It has nice bouncy curls, and the length is 26 inches, which goes past my chest area. It's a beautiful full wig. The only con I have about it is when I sweat, the bangs get wet and it looks stringy. Overall, I give it an 8.5 for its beauty, bounce, and style. Oh, and to mention, I'm scared to use heat on it even though it's a heat-resistant wig!

Fun Styling Tip: Since bangs can frame your face and instantly soften your features, pair this vibrant burgundy beauty with neutral makeup tones like a soft nude lip or just lipgloss and warm bronze eyeshadow, whatever you think that will look good on you. It lets the gorgeous red hair take center stage!

Why It Works: Long, loose waves give you that effortless glam feel, and the ombre burgundy transition adds incredible depth that catches the light beautifully.

Wig #2: Deep Wave Lace Front Wig

Rating: 9.0/10

Glueless synthetic deep water wave lace-front wig in dark brown and auburn tones with pre-plucked baby hairs.

As for number two, the Deep Wave Lace Front Wigs Ombre Auburn Brown with Black Roots Glueless Wigs Pre-plucked Synthetic Water Wave Frontal Wig with Baby Hair, it's a beautiful, soft, and flowy wig in a pretty dark brownish color that I knew I would look good in and adore. I think this one is maybe a 24-inch, with lots of water waves, and you can wet it for a more defined water wave look.

It's a lace-front wig pre-plucked with baby hairs you can gel down in cute little swirly designs. I also love that it's a glueless wig you don't really need to glue it down because it stays put. There are about 3 combs inside the lace-front wig to keep it in place for hours of wear. I give it a 9.0!

Fun Styling Tip: Embrace the water wave texture by misting it with a little leave-in conditioner and water spray bottle before walking out the door. It locks in that fresh-out-of-the-pool glossiness all day long.

Why It Works: The dark roots melting into rich auburn brown mimic a high-end salon dye job, giving you luxury vibes without the salon price tag or commitment.

Wig #3: Short Afro Curly Wig

Rating: 5.0/10

Short, tightly coiled afro curly synthetic wig with bangs and soft texture.

The third wig is a short afro curly wig with bangs. The wig didn't look like the photo when it arrived to me. It was tightly curled, and I mean tightly curled! I tried to stretch it, but it kept bouncing back. I wanted to make it look beautiful like the picture, but it just didn't budge.

Update! I got it to stretch out more! I kinda love it now!

It's cute, but was too tightly curled. I look like a doll in the wig, lol! But a short afro wig is just not for my round face, I think. I give it a 5.0, but I do love that it's soft and there was no shedding.

Fun Styling Tip: If you have a round face like mine and end up with a super tight short curl, try accessorizing with oversized statement earrings. Long dangles draw the eye downward and help balance out the proportions of a shorter, rounder cut!

Why It Works: Even though it wasn't my personal favorite fit for my face shape, the zero shedding and soft texture mean it could easily work wonders for someone with a different face shape who loves a bold, low maintenance cropped look.

What is your  go to wig style for everyday wear? I'm really interested in knowing
